On 22 February 2016, the UAE Bailliage was up for a treat at Maine Oyster Bar & Grill. Tucked away on the edge of Dubai’s sprawling coastline, is a restaurant devoid of any pretension or gimmickry. The seaside brasserie pays homage to the immortal charm of the state whose slogan is justly ‘The Way Life Should Be’. Blending a post-industrial design aesthetic with a laid-back New England extravagance, the retro-vintage feel is abetted by circular black wood banquettes, tan leather chairs, geometric terrazzo, crackled white tiles and steal beamed ceiling. Head chef, Liam Breen, served up a slice of culinary nostalgia for those jonesing for a memorable dining experience.
The night started with a cocktail reception at the terrace featuring Laurent-Perrier Brut NV Champagne accompanied by an impressive selection of Amuse-bouche. This was followed by a four course menu paired with a carefully selected matching wine as seen in the menu.
